AKOS is intended to make the necessary structure, evidence and capability visible, then bring the right people into the work without transferring professional or consequential authority to software.

The problem
Good science is not enough on its own
A technically promising product can still stall when the market need is assumed, regulatory work begins too late, experiments lose their context or investment decisions cannot be traced back to evidence.
AKOS is designed to keep those questions connected. It does not replace scientists, commercial leaders, regulators or investors. It gives them a shared, governed record of what is known, what remains uncertain and what should happen next.

AKOS is intended to develop Impact Due Diligence from the beginning, alongside commercial and technical evidence. The work starts with the intended impact and relevant Sustainable Development Goal targets, then asks what metrics, baselines, tests and value-chain evidence would be needed to substantiate it.
This includes examining provenance, energy, water, chemistry, performance, people, supply-chain effects and end-of-life. Where one benefit creates a disadvantage elsewhere, that trade-off should be visible and should influence the development route.
An early position, not a final verdict: the Will It Fly? report records an early Impact and SDG position. It is not a verified Life Cycle Assessment or a final sustainability verdict. The wider Impact Due Diligence record continues to develop across the full AKOS journey and ultimately informs what the pilot must measure and prove.

Different people need different answers
The originating user may be an individual, prospective founder, team, SME, university, public body, institution or corporation. The same programme may then need to be understood by technical teams, end users, regulators, manufacturing partners and capital providers. AKOS is intended to present audience-appropriate views without creating competing versions of the truth.
Organisational scale does not remove the need to align the vision, expose assumptions or preserve the source, confidence, ownership and decision history behind material conclusions.
